We have quite a good little community here in the Macedon Ranges. One of the things that we are lucky to have, due to the hard work of one Nadine Nartnett, is the Macedon Ranges Art Trail. Each year Nadine puts a lot of love and effort into the trail, which is an independantly run project that promotes the local artistic community. A big part of that is the lovely big fold out brochure. Isn't print nice sometimes?
Throughout the year the 'trailees' create exhibitions, open studio opportunities, and get together and dream up ideas. All this time Nadine is supporting each artist on social media, spreading the word of successes, organising the get togethers. We are lucky to have Nadine really putting her back into it!
It also reminds us that we are part of a supportive place to live. Rather than being competitive, working together is preferred. A rising tide lifts all boats, people!
As always, the brochure was a collaborative effort. Von van Vliet produced the graphic design (and, as a side point, my logo), Lara le Reveur created that incredibly detailed map of the area out of polymer clay, and I took a selection of headshots, and captured Lara's cover art.
The headshots were intended to be relaxed 'n' natural portraits of our artists. Lined up in my sites were Jenni Mills, Chrissy Welsh, Von van Vliet, and Peter Patterson. We were enjoying the natural light at the Norma Richardson Hall, here in Woodend. It was cold, but!
